I am very well aware of the fact that a motor requires oil. However I never stopped to ask myself why. In a well written article from a back issue of V-Twin magazine I learned that oil lubricates all the moving parts inside a motor to protect them. And also that heat and dirt are bad for oil. Hence the purpose of the oil filter and oil cooler. Baby steps.
Today's lesson, how an internal combustion engine operates. As Casey put it, "Heather, all you need to remember is SUCK, SQUEEZE, BOOM!" Ok. Got it.
